Tree Hotel

I read an article on Dezeen today about Tham & Videgård‘s Tree Hotel in Sweden. I was amazed. This is the future I want to be part of.

The hotel is a “shelter in the trees”, accommodating two people in a mirrored cube. Whilst giving a full 360 degree view, the structure is camouflaged by reflecting the surrounding forest. This made me scratch at a seeming flaw, and I suspected the environmentally concerned architects of over looking the plight of innocent birds in flight. I underestimated them of course. The glass has been laminated with an ultraviolet colour, visible to only birds, so they can avoid collision with the hotel. Let’s hope it’s their favourite colour.
