Badzia, my Mama, is a veteran of the iPhone photography movement. Ten years ago our family didn’t even own a digital camera. Who would have thought that now all it takes is a tap on the screen of a small rectangle? Of course, it’s completely a misconception that everyone can be a photographer just because they have a camera attached to every portable device in their pocket. Badzia’s photographs demonstrate that it takes far more than physical mechanisms to orchestrate a beautiful image. The photograph as a whole is a delicate composition of many elements and originates from a careful eye and rich imagination.
The object is not necessarily the protagonist, but an instrument in manipulating the light, as in the Pear.
